I taught for years in small rural schools. There was little funding for band, and when I bought music, I had to re-write parts to make the arrangements work, which requires publisher permission. This site is my gift back to the profession. I am writing totally legal band arrangements and compositions for totally free use. I wrote these scores with small bands in mind, with the focus on middle school level band. I included 3 levels of method books, fingering charts, and a warmup book. Nobody has permission to sell my work for profit. You may share my music with anybody. You have non-profit recording rights. You may sell recordings/videos of your band’s performances of these selections as a fundraiser for the school’s band program. Be careful–if you buy published music, you must get the publisher’s permission to make recordings, and it often costs money. Special thanks go out to my colleagues Mark Hatch and Jeremy Hilton for their input on the warmup book over the years. I believe it is the best middle school warmup book available.
